Family Photography in Surrey & SW London

Beautiful, expressive family photography for warm-hearted families

Family life is different for everyone - hectic, crazy, tiring, nurturing. It can make you laugh, smile and cry (sometimes all at once) but one thing’s for sure - it doesn’t stand still.

Sometimes it's hard to press pause and take it all in, and before you know it, the kids have grown up and you’re feeling nostalgic over the littlest things.

When photos are taken of your family, they’re valued of course, but fast-forward a few years and they’re absolutely priceless!

So, whether it’s a special occasion, a rare opportunity where you’re altogether or you just want some updated shots for your home, I can help…

This page contains details about What to Expect, Prices, a Booking Form & FAQs. Read on for more and if you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask!

“Paula is wonderful - we could not be happier with our family photographs! She captured our new little family in a way that really warms our hearts and everyone who has seen the photos has commented on how natural, loving and beautiful they are!

“We had the best experience with Paula. She was so friendly which put us at ease for the photoshoot. We are delighted with the photos she took and plan to use her again. Thanks so much Paula!”

What to Expect

With a family shoot I keep everything as fun and light-hearted as possible. I let the kids lead (or pretend to) and often appease them by photographing things they suggest too – it often helps keep things on track. The session is relaxed and fun and I focus on getting shots of you all interacting in positive way to create a set beautiful, expressive images that are full of life!

The Process:

  • We have a quick chat on the phone to establish your goals
  • If you decide to go ahead, we book you in. All you need to do is pay the deposit (session fee) to confirm the date. The session fee is important as it covers my time. The photo session is one small part of it, but behind-the-scenes, I spend many hours in post production, retouching your beautiful images to bring out the best in them.
  • I send you a ‘how to prepare’ guide for making the most of your session. There will be tips for what to wear, how to keep the kids happy during the shoot and tips on choosing products.
  • Then there’s the photo shoot - the fun bit!
  • After 2-3 weeks, you’ll get a link to view your images - the exciting bit!
  • Then you purchase a collection. Collections are very flexible and you only purchase this once you've seen your images and are sure they're everything you hoped for.

Sound good?

If you have any questions, fill out the form below and I'll be in touch. There is no obligation to go ahead if you decide not to, it's just an initial call so you can see if I'm a good fit for your family.

You wouldn't believe how many of my clients worry about this. Most of us feel that we're not at our best, a lot of the time, but please don't let this stop you from booking a family photoshoot soon. Here's why...

  • Your family will never be this age again.
  • You're an important part of your family and your kids will want to look at the photos around your home and see you in them too. They love you no matter what.
  • If you keep putting it off it might never happen and you'll miss out on having the images, from this time, to look back on.

A good tip is for you to choose your outfit first. Find something that suits you and fits well and that you feel really good in. The co-ordinate everyone else's outfits with yours.

If there's anything in particular you're worried about, don't worry about sharing it with me. That way I can work around it on the day.

If you would prefer the photos to focus on the children, and just include grown ups in a few shots. That's a great compromise :)

It's no problem at all.

And the consultation is free.

It's the time to ask me all the questions you may have. If you decide that I’m not the right fit for your family (I won't be right for everyone) then you haven't lost anything :-)

Yes absolutely. My family photography prices start at £335. That includes a £100 session fee and the smallest collection worth £235.

My pricing is completely transparent and during the consultation, you will be presented will all the prices so you can make an informed decision.

My clients spend anything from £335 to £2000+ on their family photography. There really is something to suit all budgets!

My clients book anything from 2 weeks to 6 months in advance. However, if there's a particular date you're aiming for, I recommend booking as early as possible to avoid disappointment.

Whatever captures the ‘real you’. However, for best results, coordinate your clothing with your backdrop. Take a read of my blog post below for a few ideas.

If the rain is torrential and we cannot shoot, the session will be rescheduled to a mutually convenient date. Very light rain isn't a problem and I usually go ahead in this case.

In the week leading up to the session, I will keep an eye on the weather forecast. If it looks changeable, we can leave it right until the evening before to decide whether or not to go ahead with the session.

These things happen and they can't be helped, especially when young children are involved. If we have to reschedule, due to illness, I will always be as flexible as possible for my clients and find a new date that's convenient for both of us, as soon as possible.

I have photographed children professionally for 9 years and have two children of my own (now teens) so I know the challenges they bring :) In my experience, children are at their best where they feel comfortable (at home), are able to run free (outdoors) or do an activity that they enjoy.

In my photoshoots, I keep any posing to a minim and instead, focus on getting you and your family to interact naturally together, as you normally would. And photograph the joyful moments within that.

However, there are a few things you put in place to help make things run smoothly. Have a read of my blog post below for ideas.

It takes several hours to select, edit and bring out the best in every image.

After 2-3 weeks, I'll email you a link to a private, online gallery - the exciting bit!

If you've given me permission to put a sneak peek on social media, then follow me on Instagram / Facebook and you'll get to see a couple of images in advance.

Yes absolutely! Family photography gift vouchers start from £335 to cover the session fee and smallest collection.
